Living your wedding in one of the most unique places in the world undoubtedly gives to the event the value it really deserves! Oaths for eternal faith are given in front of the volcano and the magical view of the Caldera. According to the religion and customs, each couple carries along their own tradition for the wedding ceremony, adding thus their own character. Also, thematic weddings take place having as a central keynote the tradition, wine, lavender, sand, olive or wild flowers of Santorini.

Mrs Mendrinou, owner of the Aressana hotel, organises the most exclusive weddings. “Every single wedding reflects the unique personality of the couple and is always organised according to their character, mood and personal style”, she explains. And she goes on saying: "Two years ago, a couple of Orthodox Copts from the U.S.A. got married in the churchyard of Profitis Ilias, where the Copt priest landed in a helicopter for the wedding ceremony. The couple wore the traditional Coptic costumes, i.e. were dressed as a king and queen.

The dinner was held on a wooden sailing yacht, while making the round of the Caldera. A local chef cooked traditional Santorinian dishes on the yacht. The desserts offered were the wedding desserts of Santorini, such as the “koufeto” and “amygdalota”. Fireworks lightened up the sky during the cruise. It was a real fairytale!”.
