Paris Sigalas

Wine Producer

A man of a low profile. Daydreamer, but with clear viewpoints when talking about the vineyard, wine and Santorini. He grew up in Peraeus. He visited Santorini for the first time when he was eleven. “You should meet your grandfather”, his father had told him. His grandfather, vine grower from Finikia, used to grow vines and make his wine in his kanava. “When I was a student, I would come to the island with my friends and we would harvest the grapes. The grape-harvest, the pressing in the wine press, the glentia (feasts and merriments) had something from a Dionysian mystery!”.He started dealing professionally with the wine since 1991, when he was a teacher at the High School of Santorini. When, during the last years, the needs of the winery increased, he left teaching.
